CostaVida Fitness is passionate about giving back to the community and supporting woman.  We are working to support 3 young woman who work at La Carolina Lodge in Costa Rica to make their dreams of attending University come true.  They are dedicated and motivated woman and are passionate about pursuing their dreams of getting a degree at a University in Costa Rica.   The ladies are shown in the pictures above and their stories are posted below:

*Hi, I am Wendy Herra.  I am 17 years old.  I was born May 7th, 2001 in Costa Rica.  My mom is Edwina, she hs been working at La Carolina Lodge for the last 9 years.  My dad died 10 years ago.  His dream for me was that I learned English, and I did.  But now I want to make my dream come true, and what I want is to study Chemical Engineering to help improve our environment.

*Hi!  My name is Kenyi Hernandez Ramos.  I'm 18years old and I was born on May 22nd, 2000.  My mom is Ana Ramos.  She worked 5 years and then started again at the Lodge 10 months ago.  I am studying Nursing at Santa Lucia University in Puntarenas.  My dream has always been to be a great professional to help my mom in a future, because she has always given me the bests things that she can, especially with my studies.  I want to give her back a little bit of what she has done for me.

*Hi!  My name is Vanesa Borge.  I'm 22 years old.  I was born on July 30, 1996.  I'm from Bijagua, Upala, Costa Rica, but I'm currently living in Puntarenas due to my studies.  I come from a very small family, where I grew up being raised by a single mother.  I have three brothers, the oldest is 26 and the youngest are 15 and 17.  That fact makes me the only girl in the family but not the spoiled.  My moms name is Maritza.  She has been working in La Carolina Lodge since 2007.  La Carolina has been one of my favorite plces accross Costa Rica.  I have much memories of my childhood there, and I think thanks to my experiences there with tourists from around the world, was how my love for different cultures and languages ws to arise.
I'm currently studying English as a foreign language.  I'm on my 3rd year.  I will finish next year and I want to become a bilingual teacher.  I want to teach English here in Costa Rica, and Spanish abroad to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.  Of course, I want to learn more languages to get to know more cultures.  I hope to travel around the world and have lots of adventures.  But most of all, I want to sow a succesful future and give a better life to my family.  I'm the first Universitarian person in my family, so this is a great honor.  I want to continue studying and learning more.  My mom is helping me to fulfill my dreams with many efforts.  I know it is difficult because an academic preparatio requires a lot of economic investment.  But I know for sure that God will be supplying.

One year of University costs approximately $2800 USdollars, which is why we have a goal of $8400.
We believe in these women and intend on seeing them through the years until they have their degree.
