The future is matriarchal: help build it

Donation protected
About:

I’m inviting you to join me in supporting my upcoming artistic research project on matriarchy, which will serve as the foundation for my upcoming PhD studies, and how art can be used to envision an alternative, future matriarchal society.

My plan:

I’ll draw inspiration from animal studies, gender and sexuality studies, as well as the mythology of ancient Egypt and the rituals of Minoan civilization to create a series of video collages and drafts for participatory performative. After six months of experimental research, the project will be exhibited in Vienna, Berlin and possibly in other cities.

How you can help:

To make this project a reality, I need your support. Specifically, I’ll need to rent a studio for six months to fully immerse myself in the art production. Since I’m unable to cover the rent on my own right now, I’d be deeply grateful for your help.

Reward for donating:

Throughout the process, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the creative journey, my theoretical framework on the topics, and sneak peeks of new works on Instagram, so you can follow along and watch this vision come to life.

Outcome:

The final exhibition will be open to everyone, giving you the chance to take part in an experimental participatory performance and experience matriarchal power dynamics firsthand.

About me:

I am a German-Ukrainian artist working with performances, video collages, and video installations, where I stage myself in different roles and scenarios. I create all my work entirely on my own: from handling the camera and performing to designing props and costumes and editing the final pieces.

In my art, I explore the power dynamics that shape female identity within patriarchal structures and the traumas that come with them. A key part of my practice is working with my own body and its vulnerability. By digitally altering the body, I bring the abuse of power to light - whether it happens in public or private spaces.

My experience as a Ukrainian migrant in Western Europe has deeply influenced how I see and portray female identity. It has also inspired me to engage in intercultural conversations and develop narratives that feel universal.
