Hi, I’m Patrick from Birmingham, UK.
Writing this, as of March 20th, 2025, I’ve been off work for three months, recovering from a mini-stroke caused by an unexplained brain haemorrhage. I spent a week in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and then several weeks at home receiving community therapy and relearning how to walk, as my balance was severely affected.
Thankfully, I’m on the road to full recovery.
While being off work, I’ve helped a few friends refresh their CVs as they started job hunting. Then, I found out that one of them had paid a hefty fee to a professional CV company. That got me thinking…
I’ve been in recruitment for 18 years and have reviewed over 100,000 CVs, from graduates to senior professionals. I know what makes a CV stand out. So, I want to use my experience to help people improve their CVs while raising money for stroke survivors.
How It Works:
✔️ I’ll review your CV and provide honest, constructive feedback to take it from dreadful to good or good to great.
✔️ In return, please make a donation to support stroke survivors (£20 suggestion or whatever you can afford if this is more or less) —people I met in the Stroke Ward who are facing much bigger battles than mine.
✔️ Your donation will provide physical, financial, and emotional support to those recovering from strokes.
If you’d like your CV reviewed, please submit it via my LinkedIn profile Inmails or via [email redacted].uk, along with your donation via GoFundMe.

I hope my feedback helps boost your confidence in your job search. If you don’t find the review helpful—no worries! Your donation still makes a real difference.
NB
I’ll review your CV and spend up to 1 hour providing tracked notes, changes in Word.
I’ll email it back and then provide a final look once you make/ don’t make the suggested changes.
I can only review UK CVs for UK applications please (my experience is centred around this market only and typical norms)
I may not be best placed to review CVs for more creative /arts type roles. This isn’t my bag. Happy to try and help though.
This offer to help is in no way affiliated to my current employer.
Thanks for your support,
Patrick
