Monday morning, July 6, 2020, Sebastian got dizzy and fell down the stairs. He was brought to the vet and they found that he was also suffering from severe muscle spasms and couldn't stand. Initially, his vets at Jefferson Veterinary Hospital suspected that his neurological symptoms were a side effect of the generic Flagyl he has been taking to treat his Inflammatory Bowel Disease. They were hopeful that by stopping the medication his blood system would clear the medication and he would improve. Unfortunately, he is not getting better yet.
He has been back and forth between Jefferson Veterinary Hospital and and Emergency Vet (for overnight care), many blood tests, a spinal tap and other tests are being performed to try to get to the cause of Sebastian's medical issues. Sadly, due to the restrictions from COVID-19, Sebastian's parents aren't allowed to stay in the vet office with him, but have to wait for any news. We know that the vet hospital staff are taking their very best care of him and are trying to figure out the cause, however they are not able to promise a full recovery.
The vet bills have already reached over $2000 and are expected to rise rapidly with the additional tests and 24 hour care necessary to determine the cause of Sebastian's medical issues and ability to treat them.
We are asking for positive thoughts, vibes, prayers and any bit of financial assistance you are able to donate to help Sebastian. His mom, dad, and all of us at Beagle Bed & Breakfast are so worried about Sebastian and want him to fully recover quickly. We know how important he is to so many of you as well and how difficult of a year his family has had already. We appreciate your generosity, love and support for Sebastian and his family.
