Please help The Burns family

As many of you know, in March 2023, Colton was diagnosed with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML). He was lucky to have found a match and had a stem cell transplant in Toronto this past July. Colton was eventually able to come back to Nova Scotia where he was closely followed by the IWK Childrens Hospital and even attempted a return to school in January.

Unfortunately, as I write this, Jessica and Colton are back in Toronto awaiting admittance to the hospital so he can have a second transplant administered; Coltons first transplant was not successful.

Sadly, Steve has not been able to be by Coltons side in Toronto. Meelah, Colton's older sister, has been faced with her own health battles which has forced him to stay bedside with her. At the end of December, Meelah had to undergo surgery to remove Strep A from her hip joint. She has since undergone a second surgery which requires her to be in a full leg cast of fully dependent on her dad. Once Meelah is more stable, Steve will head to Toronto to be with Colton

Both Jessica and Steve are the kindest souls and, as you can imagine, they are under tremendous stress. Not only do they have one child sick, but they have both of their babies sick.

I am hoping this fundraiser will ease the financial burden for Jessica and Steve; both who need to be off work to take care of Meelah and Colton. I know that we have all rallied behind the Burns family once before and I am hoping that we can do it again.
