On January 7th, 2022 Mike Sigman was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which has spread to his abdomen and lungs. Mike underwent immediate surgery to begin the fight against this cancer, but the battle is just beginning for him, his wife Alyssa, and their three children Paige (23), Brady (11), and Carson (5). He will undergo intensive treatment at Froedtert Hospital & Medical College of Wisconsin (South Campus) which will require him and Alyssa to try to balance being away from work while still supporting their family through his treatment.
While working full-time, Mike spends most of his free time volunteering as a coach with the Boys and Girls Club and Phenom Wisconsin. For the past three years he has been active in building the Phenom Wisconsin baseball program which focuses on developing the fundamentals for our baseball youth. He has been fortunate to coach his son’s Brady and Carson, but more fortunate are the families that are lucky to have Mike as part of the coaching staff. The intensity and fun that he brings to the field is exceptional. He does so much more than teach baseball, he has developed the boys ability to fight through games when they are down, and has taught them how to win and lose with keeping their heads held high. When he isn’t on the baseball field he is spending time visiting his daughter Paige, recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, who has been an amazing support system for her little brothers.
The Sigman family is the family who, no matter what they have going on in their lives at the moment, will drop everything to be there for another family in need. They have touched so many people’s lives in such a positive way, while persevering through many of life’s adversities. Now it’s our time to step up to the plate and support them during this challenging time.
While we have no doubt the strength of Mike and the unwavering support of his wife Alyssa will contribute to putting up a great fight, they will need those around them to rally in their support. We have organized this GoFundMe to help with living and medical expenses that will be used to support the Sigman family during what will be the fight of their lives.
Any donation is truly appreciated and will go a long way in supporting the Sigman family. Thank you all so much for your generosity and support!
