Cutting Board Authority at the KC City Market
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I write this update..
Sadly, on Sunday November 19th Charlie succumbed to his battle with pancreatic cancer and passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
We are all heartbroken over this loss but find solace in the fact he is no longer suffering.
Please keep Charlie’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
if you’d like to continue to support our business please consider donating.
Thank you all for the support and love you’ve shown.
The Cutting Board Authority will be in its 8th year at the KC Market soon. Our father/son family business is over the top grateful for the joy of your kindness, friendship and years of patronage.
We crave to continue for at least another 20 plus years but know that in the blink of an eye life brings change. In our case it’s more like the beam of an MRI machine.
I have pancreatic cancer at 72 years of age. You may not recognize me 30 pounds lighter, but please know that I intend to put my best foot forward as a cancer patient and not afraid of what’s to come.
Charlie DeCesaris.
We have always asked that sacrifices made at least balance with the rewards, and work harder or give more to keep that balance in check. It provides for strength of morality and integrity.
When a family shop like ours depends on at least 2 men opening the doors in the morning things can quickly change. God willing, I'll heal, I'm not looking for sympathy. But like any small shop we really never meet a year end without debt. My son Bernie has the baton now and is tasked to get us thru the winter and forge ahead with a strong Spring start, with only little of my ‘noise’. With the load getting heavier and the days shorter, it’ll be a stretch for this time of the season. With your help and our collective drive I ‘believe’ we can hold it together. I have chosen “GoFundMe” because it is a strong platform for people like us and you who have made a serious commitment to keeping what you believe in alive for all the joy it brings into our lives and the lives and families of all our customers. Don’t ever think your support goes unnoticed. Thanks a million for being here for us all season long and pray we meet again soon.
