Shaving hair for Kenya!
In 2014 I was privileged to be a part of the University of Notre Dame’s annual service learning trip to Kenya. Along with fellow Education and Medicine students. Working side by side with the community in Nakuru, Kenya, we spent precious time with the children at Aberdare Ranges Primary School and Miti Mingi Village children’s home, programs initiated by the fantastic organisation So They Can.
Fortunately I am able to go back to Kenya during October and November and continue working and developing relationships with the children and staff involved at Aberdare Ranges Primary School and Miti Mingi children’s home, and also the many people involved in the local community.
As a fundraising goal, I have set up a personal achievement to raise money which will be given to So They Can to further education, economic and community developments in the area. I will be shaving my hair (of nearly 3 years since my last cut) and encourage any donation that will help towards this cause.
- I will be putting in $500 which I hope will be matched (and more!)
-100% of donations raised will be put towards continuing the development of school infrastructure, providing much needed educational supplies, and providing two daily meals for the student’s.
Please, it means the world to me to raise as much money as possible, if anyone knows me they understand how attached I have become to my hair! ANY donations would be appreciated :)
