My name is Eric Villalobos and recently I was touched by my friends family and their tragic news. Michael Russell Foote and his three sons Dillion, Spencer, and Travis are the three reasons why Michael was so proud to become a father. Over the years his family has experienced a lot of happy times with incredible memories, as well as, a lot of bad ones.
In the past six weeks nothing could have prepared Michael and his family for the news and situation that has changed their family forever! In fact, I don't think any family could have been prepare, much less be ready!
Two of his sons were both diagnosed with two serious cases of Cancer. On January 18th, 2016 his youngest son Travis Miles, was diagnosed with stage 4 Testicular Cancer, he is only 26 years old. When Michael was notified of the news he was shocked but knew that as a family they could beat this, It would hard, but they could prevail!
Approximately seven days later his middle son Spencer Louis was diagnosed wth stage 4 Chronic Leukemia, he is only 28 years old. This news once again crippled the family.
While the cost of insurance, prescriptions, medical expenses, hospital visits, and all other expenses related to caring for Spencer and Travis have skyrocketed. I am started this campaign to raise money for all of their daily/monthly expenses. These expenses also include treatment not provided by insurance, transportation to and from treatments, hospice, lodging for the family in support of Spencer and Travis.
As of today Travis has started Chemo Therapy and has been able to return home to try to live a normal life. The Chemo has left Travis unable to retain full employment and this is where the funds will help. Unfortunately, Spencer has been hospitalized since being diagnosed, and it looks like Spencer will be hospitalized for a while with no income to help with the incurring costs.
These young men have become best friends and support each other through each of their illnesses but having the peace of mind that their medical bills will be taken care gives them hope. The family has tried to do their best with the medical expenses but the extra financial help will also give them peace of mind, as well as, hope to keep supporting Spencer and Travis.
Michael Foote has been an employee of Sierra at Tahoe for six years and is considered to be a member of our vast family here at Sierra. I am reaching out to the entire Sierra at Tahoe family and all others who can help in any way to assist Michael and his family through these hard times.
All donations will be used towards prescriptions, treatments, hospital visits, travel to and from treatments, as well as, all other related expenses. Any unused funds will be donated to Cancer Research to help others who may need help in the future.
