Time is critical in saving lives. In civilian settings, an ambulance typically arrives within 20 minutes. However, in Ukraine, evacuation is far more complex and dangerous. Helicopters, which are often used for rapid response, are not an option. Instead, medics rely on vehicles, navigating destroyed roads, and muddy paths.

The Challenge

Medical teams must perform first aid, monitor vital signs, and stabilize multiple patients while braving hazardous conditions. Without proper vehicles, medics face additional obstacles such as unsafe terrain, slow transport, and communication challenges. A solution is urgently needed to enable safer, faster, and more efficient evacuations.

The Solution

The Toyota Land Cruiser 78 has been selected as the ideal evacuation vehicle. This all-wheel-drive car is compact enough to avoid drawing attention, yet spacious enough to transport multiple patients.

To meet the unique demands it will be upgraded with:

• Armor: Shields medics and patients from debris and external threats.

• Electronic Systems: Disrupts drones for safer evacuations.

• Medical Equipment: Includes stretchers, heating, lighting, and power sources for on-the-go care.

• Reliable Communication: Starlink ensures seamless contact with medical teams.

The cost of the vehicle is €47,000, with an additional €12,000 for upgrades. This investment will enable medical teams to save around 50 lives each month, giving the injured a chance at recovery.
