Help Renee Pay for Breast Cancer Related Costs

We hope you will join us in supporting our dear friend, Renee Garber, as she continues her courageous fight against metastatic breast cancer.

To know Renee is to love her, and I sincerely mean that. Whether you know her as the loving mother to her two precious girls, or the dedicated educator and tutor to your children, there is no doubt you noticed the warmth and intention in which she interacts with everyone she meets. It is hard to put into words all that Renee is, and everything that she has selflessly done for other people, but the simply put, she embodies all things good, and she is an inspiration to all that are fortunate to know her. She is the kind of friend that is unwavering in her support and care for others, and she always puts everyone's needs in front of her own. It was only during her first diagnosis in early 2016 that Renee was finally forced to allow others to help take care of her in her time of need. She bravely endured chemo, radiation and a double mastectomy and thankfully went into remission for nearly four and a half years until cancer reappeared in May of 2020; this time spreading throughout her body. She continues to fight with everything she has, but she could use our help now more than ever as a single mother.

Any and all funds raised will go towards her medical-related expenses that are not covered by insurance, but are essential to helping Renee tolerate treatment and continue to be the best mom to her sweet girls. Offsetting expenses such as her lymphedema arm bands, acupuncture and medical massage treatments for pain, oncology nutritional counseling and supplements, over-the-counter and prescription medications, and even parking costs that add up during her time at the Duke Cancer Center will be a tremendous help and much appreciated.
