If you know Curtis, you know he is usually an upbeat person with an incredible sense of humor. He can sometimes be shy or he can surprise me and be outgoing but he is always inspirational with his can-do attitude and his determination to see the value in everyone. He is my inspiration every single day.
Curtis first started really not being himself in the early summer of 2019. By late July, I knew something was definitely wrong and so began our journey to try and figure out the issues. It has been a long year with a plethora of symptoms. Until last year, he had been blessed with good health since he was about 15 years old and we discovered he had celiac disease.
In August 2019, we began the hospitalizations but in 2020, he has been in the hospital every month since February. Currently, we are here yet again for the second time in September. We have also been going to OU Research Medical Center in OKC to be seen by a physician trained with and associated with Mayo Clinic. We just got home Tuesday night and were back in the ER on Saturday night.
We are blessed with wonderful, caring, and knowledgable physicians and other medical staff and are hopeful that we will find solutions to the issues soon. He is such an inspiration to the staff here at the hospital. I hear from many he is one of the bravest and most inspirational patients they have ever met. Going forward, while we are believing for his healing. In the meantime, we still have a number of treatments and maintenance to cover to get him back on track to health.
Being in the hospital means I am constantly with him. I am his interpreter and his advocate. Even during the middle of the pandemic, we were blessed with an exception to be with him because of both his unique needs and his need for a greater level of care than they could provide.
As a single mom, who is the sole supporter of our family, it has been challenging at times. I know it has been challenging for many of us this year.
My work is more than just a job to me. As a speaker, trainer, and coach my goal and my mission is to make a real difference in the world each and every day. I am currently seeking more opportunities to help inspire people to unlock their potential and live their vision by providing practical steps to do so. I also love to help others understand the other point of view through my work in cultural communication, inclusion and diversity. I teach people to work together more effectively. If you would like to know more about what I do and can provide, please check out my websites www.LevelUpToMore.com and www.DeborahLoveBradshaw.com.
While I am seeking opportunities that I may fulfill even now and while we are waiting on Curtis' next tests and next steps to wellness, a little help would be very much appreciated.
Some of you will have ideas of who might benefit from my services. Some of you might be able to offer encouraging words. Some of you might feel led to help financially. In whatever way your love and support come, we appreciate you!
Please know we love you, we value you and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
