Curtis Ludington's Relief and Recovery Fund
On Aug 7th 2021 Curtis Lundington was enjoying the wind while kiteboarding in Sylvan lake, Alberta. Unfortunately, an unpredictable change in wind direction forcefully pulled Curtis into a cement retaining wall. He was knocked unconscious in the water. A nearby stranger held his head above water until the first responders arrived. Curtis was air lifted by Stars Ambulance to the U of A hospital. He suffered 5 broken vertebrae, a traumatic brain injury, liquid in his lungs, and other fractures to his extremities.
Curtis was released from the hospital a week later — the guy is tough as nails. His wife is now required to be his full time caregiver until he recovers. It is unknown how long his recovery will take at this time and the deficits from his brain injury are not clear. Financially this has put the two of them in a difficult situation as neither of them can work. There isn't a specific goal they require, but any financial help would be greatly appreciated to overcome this obstacle.
Curtis is a very giving person that would stop on the side of the road to help a stranger change a tire. He is a husband, father, step-father, and grandfather in his loving family. He is an experienced sailer and kitesurfer that has brought joy and wisdom to the community.
