Curt’s Journey to Heart Surgery
Hi everyone.
We are unsure where to start on this roller coaster.
Curt will be going into heart surgery Tuesday 3.18.2025.
Over the last two years he has been having non stop issues with his heart. Within an 8 month time frame he had 5 stents placed.
For a few months he had had low iron.
Now to catch up to date: he had a routine colonoscopy & endoscopy to check for bleeding in December 2024 and an endo capsule done in January 2025. With all of this, we still have no answers for the source of the internal bleeding. He has been in an out of the ER and stays in the hospital. On March 3rd he ended up back in the hospital and they found out he lost half of his blood, needed 3 units of blood and several iron infusions. Which catches us up to now - his heart is still having issues so after further tests and a heart catheterization the surgeons have agreed that he needs an open heart surgery to redirect the blood flow away from his bad, blocked arteries. On top of that, he will most likely need to be on short terms dialysis for his Kidneys. Followed up with a hematologist to hopefully find the internal bleeding. Curt also has allergies that put him in high risk situations.
He is battling. If you asked him today how he felt, he would say “I’m okay”. Curt doesn’t know how to stay home. He doesn’t know how to say no. This man will not quit for anything. He LIVES for his family, not just his wife Michelle, for ALL of them. He’s so kind, so helpful, so funny, so giving. And he will not ask for help. So we, his co workers, are stepping in. Curt has been on and off work for this timeline and the financial burden is going to be a lot for his family. Anything helps. 1$ will add up. We are so blessed to be part of Curt’s life. He opens his heart and doors to all of us. Thank you for reading our story and for the support!
