Curt Kuehls untimely passing

Curt Kuehl (September 9, 1958 - December 20, 2019). This morning there is a huge void in the world and also a huge void in the virtual world that is the SDHCOA family with the untimely passing of our brother Curt. For a lucky few of us, those two worlds collided, and folks were blessed and had the pleasure of meeting and personally knowing this great man and his beloved Kathy Fox. Curt joined SDHCOA on September 6, 2014 and was a great, positive, and helpful member right out of the gate, exemplifying every aspect of what this group has been about from Day 1. On May 27, 2015 Abel and I had thought long and hard about who to add as a third Admin to help steer this amazing group, that was growing in numbers by leaps and bounds on a daily basis. When we looked at the membership and their activities, it was an easy and unanimous decision to ask Curt to join us and help lead this craziness. We assured him that while the hours were crazy and many, the “pay” was great. Curt accepted that role with pride and honor, embracing this demanding role. His beloved Kathy even got pulled in as a co-admin and helped with several breast cancer awareness campaigns, herself being a breast cancer warrior and survivor. Curt welcomed each and every new member to the group with a friendly “Welcome to the group from Milwaukee WI, the home of Harley-Davidson.” He was proud of his city, and even hosted a group meet and greet for Harley Davidson’s 115th anniversary, opening his home and garage to the #SDHCOAFAMILY. Although I never met him in person (something I truly regret), he was like a brother to me, always there to answer questions, express opinions of my ideas and direction for the group, and offering new ideas along with Bill, Abel and I in our group chat stream that goes on for years. Curt was a CDL truck driver until his initial heart diagnosis would no longer allow him to drive. He then held a stint at a local car dealership as a concierge, until his latest almost month-long visit at St. Luke’s. This created a heavy financial burden, to say the least, for he and Kathy. We will be starting a GoFundMe in Curt’s Honor to help Kathy in this most difficult time very soon, so we ask that you help in any way you can. The “pay” Curt accepted to help this group was to help every member wherever he could, and continually make the #sdhcoafamily the best group out there every single day. If Curt helped you in any way over the years, we ask that you help Curt as Curt did you. Thank you all and we wish you and your family a Peaceful and Blessed Holiday Season, and a healthy and prosperous New Year. Ride In Paradise friend, you are missed. With a membership of 22,657 members contributing even a small amount this is a very easy and achievable goal.
