CURRENT: A Pacific Northwest Feminist Electronic Art Symposium is a multidisciplinary, intersectional, music and electronic art symposium in Vancouver and the Pacific Northwest. The goal of this symposium is to provide a much-needed platform of cross-pollination and mentorship for women and non-binary artists and practitioners of creative technology.

The first iteration of this project will be a 3-day, music and arts showcase featuring events, panels, youth mentorships, and workshops, which will take place July 28th-30th, 2017 in Vancouver, Canada.

Our panels include “Event Planning: Mobilizing Women & Non-Binary Artists and Better Allyship” and “Intergenerational Knowledge Sharing in the Electronic Arts & Technology”. Workshops include “Intro to Synth Building & Live Coding” and “Intersessions: DJ Workshop”. These workshops and panels will be broadcasted live and made available online.

Your donations will help make the artistic and educational programming for CURRENT more accessible.  By offering free, public, all ages panels and workshops, we wish to cultivate growth within the local creative technology community, foster a more equal landscape within the growing Electronic Arts ecology, and empower and promote equal opportunity in the Pacific Northwest for all genders and identities.

CURRENT is produced in collaboration with local non-profit Vancouver Art and Leisure Society (VAL).
