About two weeks ago, Kira started having lower back, hip, and thigh pain.  We initially thought maybe she twisted the wrong way or slept wrong. After about a week of seeing her complaining about the pain and it eventually becoming so bad that she had a hard time getting out of bed, we took her to an ER that misdiagnosed it as growing pains. We started seeing a chiropractor who instantly knew something wasn’t right. We sent paperwork to obtain the X-rays she had received from the ER and after about a week of waiting, they had still not received the X-rays. Our amazing chiropractor Dr. Heather Dwyer suggested getting more X-rays in her office and she saw the issue right away. She sent us in the correct direction to Children’s Hospital. Kira has been diagnosed with lymphoma and will undergo treatment for the next two years. She is a strong little girl that is only 9 years old. We have no doubt that with the medical team at Children’s hospital on our side, we will beat this awful disease and she will be back to doing the things she loves in no time!!
