The Cure for Cord
Donation protected
Cord Coyle is an emergency responder paramedic and part-time sheriff’s deputy in Rushville Indiana. He has a wife of 20 years, 3 kids, a home, and a church that bolsters his sprit.
He also has stage 4 cancer.
Cord has a Neuroendocrine Carcinoid tumor , a slow-growing type of cancer difficult to detect early. After the initial diagnosis, Cord’s doctor suggested that he not seek treatment, but Cord is determined to fight. He and his wife did some research and found the Cancer Center of America, and a glimmer of hope. Treatment will require a monthly 600-mile trip , lengthy chemotherapy and intense surgery. The process will make him unable to work.
The average cost for treatment in the first year is $78,453 . Kelli, his wife, is picking up overtime shifts at the hospital where she works delivering babies—which means she can’t spend as much time with Cord as they’d like. Friends and family are helping as much as they can, but it won’t be enough. That’s where we come in.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, means another day Cord and his family can forget about money and concentrate on getting him better.
Here’s just some of what you will be helping with:
Gas for Treatment Trips: $93
Monthly Insurance Premium: $516 (out of pocket)
Chemo Copay: $150 each time
Initial Hospital Stay for Diagnosis: $6,000
Surgery: $25,0000
Everyone who knows Cord knows that he will face this chapter of his life with the same determination, good will and faith that he has always shown.
He’s dedicated his life to saving others. Now it’s up to us to return the favor.
