Hi, my name is Adriana. I'm creating this page for my husband, Jeffrey Ocasio, who would type this out himself if he could.
"Hello, my name is Jeff Ocasio. As the title reads, I am in dire need of your help. These past 18 months have been hard on my family and me. Starting in January 2021, my brother was gunned down and murdered in San Antonio, Texas. Our family dog of ten years passed away in July of 2021. His name was Rocky, and losing him for us was like losing a child. My sister went to prison in August of 2021, and we were left in charge of her four children. Though the older three eventually went to live with their birth father we were left in the custody of her then-nine-month-old baby.
I was diagnosed with COVID in September 2021, which I believe helped lead to further medical complications. I began losing eyesight in both of my eyes, as well as the potential failure of my kidneys. Since the diagnosis of my lost eyesight and kidney failure, I have been put on dialysis and have undergone four eye surgeries to try to reclaim some of my lost eye vision. I am currently awaiting a kidney transplant and am still recovering from my eye surgeries. I was fired from my job as I was unable to perform my duties and have since been unable to provide for my family financially. I was denied unemployment. We have filed for disability, but as many know, this is a long and strenuous process.
My wonderful wife has done all she can to keep the lights on and the water running. But with having a full-time job as a mother and full-time caregiver for me, it has been hard for her to handle every bill on her own. We have fallen behind on our mortgage and are in the process of losing our home due to foreclosure. Mortgage relief options are slow and unresponsive at times.
With medical bills piling up and the reality of losing everything, we have we humbly ask for your help. With your donation, we are hoping to catch up on all bills and keep our house from being foreclosed. Anything you can give at this time is greatly appreciated and will always be remembered. Thank you.
