My name is Shauna Avery and i am a mother to 9 very amazing little souls. Our family lives in the small community of Niobrara, Nebraska.
In 2015 my aunt was a victim of domestic violence, at the time she was living with my oldest sister and her 5 children. Due to mental health issues regarding the event that unfolded, my sister was unable to continue being a mother. This is where i stepped in and adopted my 4 nieces and 1 nephew. As our family grew, our home needed to grow also. Being in such a short time frame, we purchased a home that was in need of some repairs, most we were able to do ourselves.
I am asking for help with keeping our home safe for our family. We are in need of a new roof and bat removal. We have been having a difficult time in the past year finding a roofing company that will come do the work necessary to fix the problems. Now that we have found a company willing to do the work needed, we found ourselves not being able to pay for the repairs. We also are in need of paying for the expense of removing bats from our attic. Our bat removal bill is $6,865.75 plus tax. Our roof repairs estimate out to $5,000.00 with materials, labor, and rentals for the lift and waste. With the expense of a new roof and bat removal we are now worried we will not be able to afford the cost. Due to the extent of damage to the roof from recent weather, we are trying to raise the money as soon as possible.
I am starting this in hopes of raising enough money to help me and my children in paying for our repairs. The repairs on the roof will begin as soon as we can raise $2,500 and the rest will be due once the roof is complete. Our bat removal bill will be due 90 days after the roof has been sealed.
Any amount counts towards helping my family keep the roof over our home. My family is also doing fundraising in our local communities. Thank you all for taking the time to read our story and please share!
