For the past six years, “Cup of Love” allowed me to quietly serve elderly people, hospital patients, and others in need here in Coatepec, Mexico.
Now, after recent CT scan findings, I must return to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix for further evaluation and treatment while navigating a temporary financial gap before the completion of a property sale here in Mexico.
This fundraiser is intended to help with travel, lodging, transportation, and basic living expenses during that period.
“Cup of Love” has become a very personal part of my life here in Coatepec.
Many followed the weekly meal deliveries, hospital visits, baking days, blanket giveaways, and countless moments shared with the elderly, the sick, and people who simply needed a little kindness and companionship.
Over time, those small acts of love added up to nearly 8,000 meals served.
After last year’s cancer surgery, I truly hoped life would slowly return to normal and that I could continue this work peacefully for many years to come.
So many of you generously helped me during last year’s surgery and recovery, and I remain very thankful for that support.
Recent CT scan results here in Mexico now require further evaluation and treatment through Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, including dermatology and oncology appointments, a scalp biopsy, and updated CT/PET imaging.
My quarterly CT/PET scans have become an important part of monitoring this cancer journey, and Mayo’s level of imaging and follow-up care remains extremely important to me.
While the final closing details of selling my little farm here in Mexico are still being completed, Mayo’s timeline is moving much faster, and I will need to return to Phoenix before the sale is finalized.
Right now, I’m simply trying to bridge the gap between immediate treatment-related expenses and the completion of the property sale.
The immediate needs are practical ones: travel, temporary lodging, Uber rides, and basic living expenses during this transition.
My first confirmed appointments include:
• Travel to Phoenix on May 16
• Mayo Clinic dermatology evaluation and scalp biopsy on May 21
• Updated CT/PET imaging
• Ongoing oncology consultation and treatment planning afterward
One of the hardest parts of this season has been stepping away from the weekly meal deliveries and visits that became such a meaningful part of my life.
Many of the people I visited were not just recipients of meals.
They became dear friends.
Their resilience, humor, and courage shaped me deeply over the years.
Anyone who knows me knows this is difficult for me to post. But several friends encouraged me to allow others the same kindness and support that I tried to offer for many years.
If you are able to help in any way — through a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this page — I am sincerely grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
