Cultivating change in our PILATES commUNITY

Your contribution will enable us to hire a lobbying firm and change legislation. We are very grateful for your generosity. No donation is too small or too large.

WHO?

Global Pilates Organization (GPO) was created in 2020 to help support the Pilates community.  During the Pandemic, we observed and experienced a need for studio management support as well as recognition of our professionals as essential.  As a licensed profession, and rallying behind one another for daily support, we will make efforts among facilities, techniques, borders, and leadership to be recognized by raising efforts for standardized Pilates.

WHAT?
Our team is structuring and developing continued education and business resources.  Advocacy is one of the important aspects of this organization. All of these aspects will be under the umbrella of Global Pilates Association (GPA) the non-profit leg of our organization (pending 501c3 approval). This is necessary for us to start to allow us to accept funds which will support our mission as we continue to grow.

What is GPA all about?
Inclusivity
Transparency
CommUNITY

WHAT ARE WE CAMPAIGNING FOR?
Create a code of ethics
Standard business practices
Professional boundaries
Educational standards
Scientific Pilates research papers

WHY?
Due to current events with COVID 19 continuously impacting our world, the Pilates community (especially studio owners) have been hit drastically. Many studio owners have been forced to close their businesses which is a main source(s) of income, and some are in ongoing lawsuits from their efforts to staying open. By staying open the studio provides each client / students with health, wellbeing, and rehabilitation. This supports their inner well being, aids in development of self confidence and a sense of a communal environment. Which is the catalyst of physical and mental health.

Pilates studios are operated differently from the average gym. By law studio owners have been grouped with large gyms, and are required to follow the same rules.  It is important to join together as a community and change our status to personal service. This culture shift is for the future of our community connecting professionals, sports franchisees, medical providers, essential workers, and all local participants. Coming together to raise efforts to standardized Pilates, as a licensed profession.

HOW?
Global Pilates Organization is working closely with the lobbying firm Bolton St Johns. Bolton-St. Johns is a government relations and public affairs firm that specializes in developing research-based and solution-oriented strategies, they also provide lobbying services, political training and grassroots campaign strategies. This firm has the knowledge and know how to deliver real results based on their long standing relationship with the Pilates community.

This call to action will aid in permanent government changes for our community and inspire other cultures to reach for greater economic and social changes.
