Mi hijo Deriel nació con el Síndrome de Goldenhar, una condición congénita poco común. Nació con labio y paladar hendido, anoftalmia derecha, entre otros síntomas. A sus 16 años, Deriel ha pasado por 15 cirugías en hospitales como el Arnold Palmer Hospital en Orlando, Connecticut Children's Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital y Nicklaus Children’s Hospital en Miami.

La próxima cirugía será el 18 de agosto en Orlando, Florida, para la Rinoplastia y extirpación de quiste . El estará hospedándose con su abuela en esa ciudad después de que ya este recuperado. Después de esta estará teniendo más cirugías durante el año. 

Este GoFundMe NO es para cubrir los gastos médicos de Deriel, ya que su seguro médico cubre todos sus tratamientos y necesidades médicas, al igual que Papá cubre gastos de traslado para-Deriel. Este fondo es para cubrir mis propios gastos como madre acompañante, ya que resido en Puerto Rico y debo quedarme en Orlando con él durante 14 días para cuidarlo, tiempo estimado para su recuperación.

En esta ocasión necesitamos un poco de ayuda para cubrir gastos de traslado.

My son Deriel was born with Goldenhar Syndrome, a rare congenital condition. He was born with cleft lip and palate, right anophthalmia, among other symptoms. At just 16 years old, Deriel has undergone 15 surgeries at hospitals such as Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Connecticut Children's Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.

His next surgery is scheduled for August 18th in Orlando, Florida, for his rhinoplasty and cyst extraction. He will be staying with his grandmother after recovery period (which is an estimated 14 days). After this Deriel will keep getting surgeries throughout the year. 

This GoFundMe is NOT intended to cover any of Deriel’s medical expenses, as his health insurance fully covers all his treatments and medical needs and Dad covers his moving expenses. This fundraiser is specifically to help cover my personal expenses as his mother and caregiver, since I live in Puerto Rico and will need to stay with him in Orlando for 14 days, which is the estimated recovery time.

At this time, we need a little help to cover traveling expenses.
