On the night of October 26th, Barbara suddenly couldn't take a breath at all. The Shelter Island ambulance took her to the hospital where she was immediately intubated and taken to Stonybrook hospital. Turned out she was suffering from pneumonia plural effusion with clotting. It will take a bit of time to recover since her lungs had been damaged by covid.

Due to her medical condition, her family business hasn't been able to keep up with clients and her income has decreased tremendously. Unfortunately, her medical insurance won't cover all the expenses and is leaving them in a big emotional and financial stress. 

Our friend Barbara has been an honorable person and has helped our community in so many different ways. The support we can give them, in such difficult moments, can bring light and hope to their lifes.
