Cuddle Cot Fundraiser in Honor of Waylon Hussey

On May 16th, 2019 our perfect, beautiful son Waylon Hendrix Hussey came into this world one day before his 'due date'. What should have been a joyous and momentous occasion was overshadowed by trauma and pain. Three days later on May 19th, we experienced a nightmare no parent should have to endure when Waylon passed away peacefully in our arms.
His short life was spent in the NICU at the Golisano's Children Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. Unresponsive and unable to breathe on his own, he was hooked up to countless machines and tubes while we held vigil, praying for a miracle that never came. In those three days, unable to hold him, we were left with studying every inch of him. From his beautiful auburn red hair to his dimpled chin to his tiny perfect toes, we had the privilege of taking it all in. Time was not on our side. We knew with every fleeting moment, we were getting closer to saying goodbye to our son forever.
So many parents do not get these opportunities.
A parent never imagines losing their child. It's a thought too painful to bear. A parent never imagines how they will honor their child if that happens.
We would like to try and give bereaved families something they wish they had more of...time. Time to hold their child. Time to study their child. A Cuddle Cot is an in room cooling unit that is the size of a small humidifier that is disguised inside a bassinet preserving their little one. A Cuddle Cot gives families the gift of time, allowing for their precious angel to be at their bedside during their hospital stay.
With your donation, we would like to provide another Cuddle Cot for Health Park/Golisano's Children Hospital. With any additional fundraising being spent on a catered meal for hospital staff, as well as a memorial garden to honor our Waylon.
