On June 6th of this year, our dad was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. An upper GI revealed a large malignant tumor between his esophagus and stomach. Straight away, our parents dove into researching treatment options, and after meeting with multiple different doctors, they decided to pursue a more natural treatment path before attempting surgery. Over the course of the Summer and Fall, our dad has steadily introduced natural treatment methods that have slowed his cancer growth and helped his body become healthy and strong. In November, a PET scan showed that these treatments have kept his tumor stable.

After his PET scan, we as a family were excited to hear he had been accepted to a clinic in Frankfurt, Germany, where he will receive further treatments over the course of 3 weeks with the goal of shrinking his tumor before scheduling surgery sometime in February of 2023. This clinic, along with most of the other treatments he has received, is not covered by insurance. Additionally, the surgery he requires is extremely invasive and is estimated to have an 8-12 week recovery period where he will be unable to work.

Anyone who knows Cub Bercier knows that he is the most kind, generous, helpful, loving, and hardworking man. Our family has full faith and confidence that he will recover from this diagnosis, but we can’t do it alone.
