Con un dolor imposible de describir, nuestra familia está solicitando el apoyo de nuestra comunidad para Adriana Jimenez Duarte, una querida madre, hermana, hija y amiga cuya vida cambió trágicamente a causa de un acto de violencia.

El domingo 23 de agosto, Adriana fue víctima de un tiroteo y recibió un disparo en la cabeza que le causó heridas devastadoras. Su hermana también resultó herida durante el tiroteo y continúa hospitalizada.

Actualmente, Adriana permanece en cuidados intensivos. Debido a la gravedad de sus lesiones, los médicos nos han dado la desgarradora noticia de que lamentablemente ya no hay nada más que puedan hacer para salvarla. Sumado a este dolor inimaginable, Adriana tenía 14 semanas de embarazo y, tristemente, su bebé tampoco podrá sobrevivir.

Adriana también es la amorosa madre de una hermosa niña de tan solo 6 años, quien ahora tendrá que crecer sin su mamá. Ningún niño debería tener que enfrentar una pérdida como esta, y nos parte el corazón pensar en el difícil camino que le espera.

Como familia, jamás imaginamos que enfrentaríamos una tragedia de esta magnitud. Además del profundo dolor que estamos viviendo, ahora debemos afrontar gastos médicos y funerarios inesperados, la posible repatriación de los restos de Adriana y la responsabilidad de asegurarnos de que su pequeña hija reciba el apoyo y los cuidados que necesitará durante este momento tan difícil.

Pedimos a nuestros familiares, amigos, a nuestra comunidad y a todas las personas que se sientan conmovidas por la historia de Adriana que, por favor, consideren apoyarnos. It is with unimaginable heartbreak that our family is asking for the support of our community for Adriana Jimenez Duarte, a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose life has been tragically changed by an act of violence.

On Sunday, August 23, Adriana was the victim of a shooting and suffered a devastating gunshot wound to the head. Her sister was also injured in the shooting and remains hospitalized.

Adriana is currently in intensive care. Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors have given us the heartbreaking news that there is nothing more they can do to save her. Adding to this unimaginable loss, Adriana was 14 weeks pregnant, and tragically, her unborn baby will not survive either.

Adriana is also the loving mother of a beautiful 6-year-old daughter who will now have to grow up without her mom. No child should have to experience a loss like this, and our hearts are shattered knowing the difficult road that lies ahead for her.

Our family never imagined we would find ourselves facing a tragedy of this magnitude. Along with the overwhelming grief, we are now faced with unexpected medical and funeral expenses, the possible repatriation of Adriana’s remains, and the responsibility of making sure her young daughter is supported and cared for during this incredibly difficult time.

We are asking our family, friends, community, and anyone touched by Adriana’s story to please consider helping us.
