My Sister’s Family Lost Everything in a House Fire

I want to thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart. Because of your generosity, love, and prayers, we have raised almost $8,000 for my sister and her family. I truly cannot put into words how grateful we are.

Last night, they were able to secure a long-term rental, and they will be moving in next Friday. This is a huge step toward rebuilding some sense of normalcy. They are also out today looking at vehicles, praying they’re able to find something safe and reliable after losing their vehicles in the fire.

Each day brings a new obstacle, but each day also brings new hope. Your donations, messages, and shares have made this impossible situation just a little easier for them, and we will never forget the kindness shown during the hardest week of their lives.

Last night, my sister and her family lost everything in a house fire. They had less than a few minutes to get out, and thank God everyone — including their dogs — made it out safely. But everything else is gone.

They’re staying in a hotel for the next few days while they figure out what’s next. Insurance will eventually help, but that takes time, and they’re already having to pay out of pocket for everything — clothes to stay warm, food, crates for the dogs, and even a car because State Farm is having internal issues delaying their claim.

It’s my sister, her husband, my 24-year-old nephew, and my twin 18-year-old nieces. Seeing them have to start from absolutely nothing is heartbreaking.
