Paul “Zibba” Mahassel
Fighting Pancreatic Cancer
Paul “Zibba” Mahassel is everyone’s good humored and generous friend, cousin, uncle, brother, step-dad, Papa Boo, and mostly - husband to the love of his life Chris. Paul was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Everyone around him, including Paul, is taking a positive attitude. His focus should be on his treatment and not other things including his business.
Paul is the proud owner of Tri-Star Sportswear, an embroidery business his mom Gladys began before she was taken by breast cancer in the 80’s. If you know Paul you have probably been the recipient of numerous “extras” he has made - baseball hats, tee shirts, golf shirts, jackets and ski hats - some with the right stitching and some not! Paul and Chris are the ‘go to’ when you have an embroidery job. They are the first to step up when there is a good cause and have done countless golf tournaments, road races and other fundraisers. They ALWAYS look for the best deal they can find for you and on top of that, (taking from their profit) a discount! And never forgetting the families of fundraisers whether it be a special sweatshirt or hat for them to remember the cause.
Paul is a huge hearted friend who always wants to make your day a little brighter and lighter. He knows everyone everywhere he goes. If you meet him and don’t know him, you certainly will! We joke and say if Paul Mahassel ran for Mayor of Central MA he’d win!
Paul and Chris are small business owners who, like too many self employed folks, took a substantial hit during nearly two years that Covid shut down the world. That coupled with the current economy and Paul’s need to take time away is going to make his fight with Pancreatic Cancer a financial hardship. Paul and Chris are not the type to ask for help, or even share personal issues like this but Paul will not be able to work much during his treatment and surgery. So today we kindly ask for your support to help them alleviate the cost of living, medical expenses, and deductibles for insurance. As friends and family, we aim to take some financial burden off their shoulders and to help cover short-term expenses so Paul can focus on getting better. Every dollar raised from this Gofundme will go directly to Paul’s expenses.
Paul will start treatment ASAP. This page will be updated on his progress. Please check back and keep the good vibes coming his way.
