One of the most difficult life skills for me to practice is asking for help.
Those of you who know me know that the last several years have held more that enough physical illness and injury, chronic pain, depression, financial hardship and just plain rotten luck. My medical and living expenses are more than I can pay on what I now earn. I've been working at a job for the last few months I believe will be be a wonderful opportunity to put my many years of experience and love of sustainable and regenerative farming, food, environmental and social activism, aromatic and medicinal plants to excellent use. In order to make the transition to this new job I plan to move out of the place I've been living and sell what I can't take with me. In the meantime I need to pay living expenses and something toward the bills that have been accumulating in the last few months.
I know working in this environment will be a chance to heal and recover from the challenges of the last several years. I feel hopeful and excited for the first time in a long while about the possibilities for improving my own health and helping others to improve theirs.
I'm grateful to everyone who reads this request. My hope is by me asking for help it might encourage someone else to reach out too. When we turn to each other in kindness we all benefit. May your own challenges be met with kindness.
