Pat Casper.
Mother. Grandmother. Wife. Aunt. Friend. Survivor.
Eleven years ago a journey began with the tragic loss of her Daughter, Nikki. In 2007, Pat's health started to steadily decline, first with a heart attack that resulted in two shunts to be installed. Fast forward to 2011, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Myloma, a Cancer of the blood cells in the bone marrow. The chemotherpy needed as a result caused kidney failure that continues to send Pat to dialysis three times each week, indefinitely.
The Cancer was in remission for three years, but in that time Pat had to have a knee replacement, followed by back surgery, and the removal of cataracks in both eyes.
November 2014 the Cancer returned, along with more chemo. Additionally, she was hospitalized three times for A-fib (when the heart needs to be shocked back to a normal rythem).
As one could imagine, the years of medical procedures that have kept Pat alive thus far have created quite the financial challenge.
In order to continue living, being the strongest woman most of her family and friends know, Pat has decided to humbly take to GoFundMe and ask for help.
On Marth 14th, Pat is scheduled to undergo her second stem cell transplant. This procedure will require daily visits to the clinic for six weeks, meaning she will have to stay in hospital housing (an out-of-pocket expense).
Money from this campaign will be used to combat mounting medical costs.
Any help is indescribably appreciated, because without this treatment we will all have to experience the loss of a wonderful woman before her time.
Thank you!
