Support Nalas Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
Nala is my 8 1/2-year-old American Staffordshire (you all say pit bull, I say my furbaby). She is such a sweet girl and does not deserve to have to battle this. She has done nothing in her life but love her people and care for me with lots of kisses and hugs. I’m still a little shocked as this was not something I was expecting to hear. I have been through hell this year, but to say I’m unlucky is not so. Today's events remind me that every cloud has a silver lining. Learning in July that I have Stage 2 Breast Cancer, but it is curable and I will beat cancer was a blessing, but battling chemo is no easy task. With today's news of Nala's health issue, although serious, it too has a solution and her outlook is as good as mine with surgery. Dr. Nelson diagnosed her with a mast cell tumor, and surgery is scheduled for November 21. This timely intervention will likely prevent the tumor from spreading. I was worried about her teeth and ended up leaving with this shocking news!
I'm grateful for all my family and friends who have continued to support me through my battle with cancer. Now I’m looking for support for Nala.
You can support Nala's recovery by donating to her GoFundMe or Mt. Zion Animal Clinic, 3513 Mt. Zion Avenue, Janesville, WI 53546, under Nala's account/Amber Parker (my daughter, they linked our account together). This GoFundMe page has been set up to cover her vet care. As I explore alternative options, due to my limited income while going through my cancer treatments, I do not qualify for care credit.
Despite battling breast cancer and chemotherapy, I'm determined to ensure Nala receives the care she needs. Her resilience inspires me to stay strong. She handled today’s appointment like a champ while they extracted fluid from the mass. She received lots of treats and pets.
My family cannot thank you enough, and I look forward to the days when I can pay it forward.
