Mychal is currently in his third and final year of law school at Seattle University. Many of the friends Mychal has made through law school can attest to the fact that he is one of the most kind, outgoing, and genuine friends out there. Mychal
constantly puts others first and goes out of his way to help out where he can. At the start of this past fall semester, Mychal helped a number of new students by making them feel welcome, introducing them to other new students as well as second/third year students, and just being a solid friend overall. Law school is not an easy endeavor, but having a mentor figure like Mychal has benefited so many students at Seattle U.
On Sunday, September 20, Mychal was riding his motorcycle on his way to Seattle when he got into a serious accident. He does not have any recollection of the accident, but was rushed to Tacoma General Hospital where he regained consciousness. Mychal fractured his left hip, broke two of his toes on his left foot, has a laceration on his right knee, and other minor injuries. He underwent surgery on his right knee and is currently heavily sedated on pain medication. Besides these physical injuries, he is also dealing with overcoming the psychological trauma from the accident.
Mychal's discharge date and road to recovery is uncertain at this point but is being monitored on a daily basis. The team at Tacoma General Hospital is pushing for him to get some walking in. Currently, the treatment plan is to reduce his pain to a manageable level and get him up and walking.
Anyone who knows Mychal knows that he is one of the most caring friends one could ask for. Please consider returning all of the kindness he has shared with others by offering support and prayers for his full recovery during this challenging time. Medical costs and other related expenses are quickly adding up. Let's lessen this financial stress so that the focus can be on Mychal's recovery. Even if you are not able to help financially, please share and keep him in your thoughts and prayers. If we all come together we will have Mychal back on his feet and back to doing all of the things he loves doing.
