Support for My Family: Paul's Fight Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alanna. I am Shelly & Paul's oldest daughter, and resharing this go fund me with the hope that we can rally together and raise some more money to help my parents get through these hard times.
For those who don't know, Paul was diagnosed in April 2024 with Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer. He underwent a removal surgery end of April, and they were successful in removing 95% of the tumor. While that was an excellent outcome, we were still advised at that time that this is an aggressive form of cancer, and it is unfortunately terminal.
We were hopeful that with radiation and chemotherapy, that Paul would be able to return to work after a 2-4 month recovery, and return to life semi-normally, however that has not proven possible. We just crested 10 months, and Paul is still out of work.
In January, his repeat scans showed tumor growth for the first time since the removal surgery. This means that the cancer is now more aggressive than the treatment, and he was given approximately 6 to 9 months left here with us. We are so very saddened by this news, and are still trying to figure out how to navigate the upcoming challenges financially, physically, and emotionally.
Due to his diagnosis and current condition, he is unable to be left alone for long periods of time due to safety risks. In addition to that, his appointments have become more frequent as well.
I am so thankful to have the job that I do, that allows me to be his secondary caregiver three days a week, however that still leaves my mom to all appointment responsibilities, and more time out of work herself than we initially expected as well. She has not been able to work a full 40 hour work week pretty much since his diagnosis. This has continued to increase financial struggles, and has made it really hard for her to stay afloat.
I am urging the community to rally together and hope that we can do some more to help my parents. There is nobody more deserving of support, truly.
Please consider donating if you are able to, sharing with friends/family/business partners/etc. Any little bit helps.
If you would prefer to donate directly, please contact me Alanna Ruby for additional donation methods. If you prefer to offer support in other ways, gas or grocery gift cards are also a huge help! We truly appreciate everyone's love, kind words, positive thoughts, and contributions.
