CT Scan for IPF

My mother, Elizabeth, is an amazing woman. She loves her children and grandchildren.  She’s been a devoted nurse for over 25 years and has cared for so many people over these years.  Recently, after a round of pneumonia and 2 rounds of antibiotics, her doctors gave us the devastating news that we may soon be fighting a very aggressive, little known diagnosis called Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary fibrosis is a build-up of scar tissue in the lungs. The scar-tissue continues to build until the patient goes into respiratory failure. This illness is terminal, usually has no known cause, and most do not make it to 5 years after diagnosis. As of now, my mother does not have the insurance needed to get a CT scan to either show that the doctor is correct and we need to get ready, or that it may be something else and we can continue looking. It’s pretty scary being in limbo and not knowing.  I appreciate anything that may help us get this CT scan.  As a nurse and mother, she’s given loving care to so many and I want to return the favor. Thank you guys and we love you all so much!!  Once the CT scan is done and we have a diagnosis, I will update on the status. Again, thank you for anything, especially prayers, good thoughts, and love.
