CT Scan for Charles and Additional Vet Fees
Donation protected
Many of you know and love my cat Charles, who I’ve had for over 5 years now. A few weeks ago Charles developed a weepy eye, that consistently got worse until one day he was lethargic, wouldn’t eat or drink water, and didn’t purr - and if you know Charles, you know that’s unusual. The vet said that he has a swelling behind his eye of either a serious infection or, more likely, a tumor. She recommended that Charles get a CT scan of his head to see what type of tumor it is and what our treatment options are, while treating Charles with gabapentin and antibiotics to alleviate his pain in the meantime.
The preliminary tests done at the vet (full blood work and chest X-rays) all came back clean, so no cancerous spread, which is good news. However, I need to act quickly to get him a scan and see what the options are. I’ve already spent $700 on the preliminary tests and the CT scan costs from $1700-$2300.
I’m hoping to fundraise part of that to help defray my out of pocket cost since I’m unsure of how expensive his treatment will be if it turns out to be cancerous - or even what will come next after the scan. But Charles is well loved and deserves the best care I can give him regardless. If you’re able to help, we would be so grateful!
