Our beloved Carl John Heacock Pelena, fondly known by family and friends as “Buddhu” unexpectedly passed on Friday morning, the 11th of August.

John suffered a head injury back in 2019, leaving him bedridden with lower extremities and left-sided weakness. In 2021, he moved to California from Guam, seeking better healthcare and support. Despite his frustrations, John never complained, always saying he was doing okay. We did our best to keep him comfortable, but his limitations made it difficult to keep him going.

John's passing was unexpected, and we were not prepared to lose him so quickly and too soon.

We have set up this GoFundMe to ask for your assistance during this very difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us give John a proper and peaceful burial.

John's memory will always be with us, and we thank you for considering a donation to help us honor his life.
