Sponsor the CSULA trip to Guatemala in January 2020! This student and faculty led study abroad trip will help students weave relationships with communities of Guatemala based on mutual respect, relationship, and transnational exchange.

In Fall of 2019 CSULA faculty decided to develop a course that delved into the complex history of Guatemala. One of the results was the idea for a study abroad program that would explore how these histories are experienced today in Guatemala. Our program is scheduled for Winter session in January.
All of the students and faculty are people of color, and the majority are actual Central Americans themselves. In other words, this is not a chance to go see “a different culture.” For a lot of us, it’s an opportunity to understand our own history and motherland in a program that centers social justice.
