My name is Tina.
My son (Jason), daughter (Sara), and I are in a life and death situation, and we desperately need help.
We are all currently disabled. My kids are temporarily unemployed both due to injuries preventing them from working. My autistic son broke his foot, my daughter was severely injured at work, and I am a hot mess, with Long COVID for 2 1/2 years that has now left me with multiple autoimmune disorders, lung damage with COVID nodules, vision loss, heart failure and now skin cancer.
We lost our home after I had initially become sick in 2020, and have been couch surfing, or staying at the cheapest motels around. No services have been available, other than food stamps. Disability is still pending for me. Worker’s comp seems to be a severe issue for my daughter’s employer, so we need a lawyer, now. We keep being told, “Call 2-1-1.”
2-1-1 is a joke. We are caught in a loop of not getting any help, as I get sicker by the day. My kids gave up EVERYTHING, to try to care for me and we are now currently broke, broken, and sinking. Fast.
I finally had my heart surgery scheduled for a couple days from when this is being written, but with no transportation and no safe place to recover, it will have to be cancelled.
Currently, my children and I are sitting on a sidewalk, with the few belongings we have left and my son’s therapy cat. No money. No where to go. No idea what to do. We need help.
