Austin Allen
Donation protected
As many of you know on October 2, 2018 one of our loved ones, Austin Allen (AJ) was found by his step dad unconscious in their home. Upon arriving at wellstar kennestone hospital we received the terrible news that Austin had a blood clot on his brain that required immediate attention. Once the blood clot was removed we then learned that he had a stroke on his brain stem. This damage to his brain stem left Austin in a state of coma and admitted into the Kennestone neurological intensive care unit for over a month. Austin remained in the neurological unit at Kennestone until he had progressed into a an emergent state of coma. Upon this milestone, he was selected to further his recovery process within the Shepherd's center. The Shepherd’s center is a private non profit hospital that specializes in the medical treatment , research, and rehabilitation for those who have acquired brain injuries. As of December 10th, Austin has been undergoing speech, occupational, and physical therapy with the Shepherd family. With your help, we are seeking donations to go towards extended medical treatment that Austin will need upon returning home. Austin’s at home therapies, estimated cost of $4000 a month, will not be covered by insurance. We thank you in advance for any donations made towards Austin’s recovery.
