Nathan Trice, now 35 yrs old was injured in an off road accident in 2007. As a passenger he was ejected and suffered a cervical fracture crushing the C 5/6 Vertebrae...
As the result of the broken neck and the diagnosis of quadrepelegia , Nate was left confined to a wheel chair with limited use of his right arm and hand and use of nothing else from the shoulders down.
Over the past 9.5 years Nate has fought to recover as much movement, strength, and mobility as possible.
Employing standard Rehab at first, he was left with needing more. Working with private personal trainers, Nate has regained mobility in his upper body ,arms and hands as well as independence in self transfer and self care.
With the advent of private Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Centers that are opening nationwide, which utilize personal trainers and unconventional methods, there is now opportunity for real recovery.
At last, a center opened in our area. It is called Stay In Step Spinal Cord Recovery Center in Tampa ,Fl. ( visit on you tube)
They offer a multitude of systems to help restore and keep the body conditioned.
Since Nate began working out at Stay In Step one year ago, he has engaged muscles in his legs, abs and now he is improving trunk and core control.
However, a program of this nature is very expensive and is not covered by insurance . It requires a MINIMUM of two hour sessions twice a week
at $100.00 per hour. This is why we are asking for assistance.
With the help of our generous sponsors we are hoping to raise enough funds to keep Nate moving for another year!!!
Thank you for your support!
