I'm a British citizen pursuing my studies in the UK while being billed as an international student.

As a British citizen pursuing a master's degree in the UK, I've encountered a unique twist to this academic journey. Even within the borders of my own ‘homeland’, I find myself paying international student fees, adding an extra layer of perspective to my educational journey.

I moved back to the UK from the US after being laid off and decided to pursue my Master's whilst the economic situation in the US settles down. Despite moving back as a citizen, English law requires me to be a UK citizen AND have lived in England 3 years prior to the start of my program, to be eligible for home tuition rate.

This means that instead of paying £12,700 for my program, I'm paying £31,100. I'm currently working part-time which helps to offset much of this cost, however I still have a pending balance, living in London is not cheap and I just need a leg up to stay ahead of the payments.

This amount will go towards my 2nd installment of £6,664 due in February 2025.
