Hi, my name is Josy, & I'm starting this fundraiser to help Crystal, my wife. It was a normal Sunday afternoon, and little did I know that the world as I knew it would dissolve into a chilling nightmare, a nightmare where my wife was rushed to the ER. A seizure, violent and unexpected, ripped through her. The culprit? A hemorrhagic stroke, caused by a burst blood vessel deep within the brainstem, a vital area called the pons. This conductor's podium of the brain controls everything from breathing to the symphony of our senses – from the delicate dance of our muscles to the act of swallowing. There are two types of people in this world, Takers and Givers, and the only thing Crystal has ever taken would be the weight of the world by herself. The amount of love and support she gives out reaches the hearts of all that know her and of those who’ve only heard of her deeds as well. She has always taken on the weight of everyone around her without the slightest regard for her own well-being. Her beautiful acts of selflessness right there, fueled by years of unmanaged hypertension and relentless stress got us to where we are today.

The Doctors painted a bleak picture. The damage left them with a devastating conclusion: a 90% chance Crystal wouldn't recover. They presented me with a hard decision – a life of dependence in a nursing home or letting go. Despair threatened to consume not just me, but also her kids, her coworkers, her family, and friends alike.

Then a flicker of defiance, a strength as inherent to Crystal as her smile, refused to be extinguished.

Next, a miracle unfolded. The next day, a faint tremor of hope emerged. Signs of consciousness, a response so subtle it could have been a trick of the light. But it was real. And then, another: a wiggle of the toes, a testament to a spirit clawing its way back from the abyss. These were victories that defied the odds stacked against her. Through the power of prayer, God reached out his warm embrace and welcomed her back to us. Each tiny movement was a beacon, a silent prayer answered.

The impossible became reality. Day by day, week by week she regained control of her body with a determination that mirrored the ferocious love of her family. It was a medical marvel, a victory that brought tears to the eyes of even the most seasoned doctors. This wasn't just recovery; it was a resurrection.
