Crystal's Comfort and Care
My name is Danielle and my friends and I are fundraising for an amazing woman, Crystal Taylor. She is a wife, mother of five, grandmother of six, a sister, an auntie, and so much more. She has been a licensed daycare provider for 20 plus years and is the owner of Remnant Little Soldiers Daycare which is how I, and my circle of friends, first came to know her. My friend Nicole's daughter was the first child in our circle to attend Crystal's daycare and that "child" is now nearly 27 years old! She then provided daycare for my friend Lisa's two daughters and my friend Latonya's three sons. She convinced her daughter to return to work for her so that she could provide care for my daughter when I became a single adoptive mom 8 years ago. My daughter calls her daughter Auntie Donna and she affectionately calls Crystal her Nana! We have all been blessed by the Taylor/Matthews family!
Crystal has helped to nurture and educate countless children in the last 20 years! Along the way, she has also become a friend and confidante to many parents, including me. As a single adoptive mom, her counsel has been invaluable to me. She's not just my child's daycare provider, she's my friend! Many of her daycare kids are adults now and they continue to stay in touch with her and visit her when they come home from school, etc. Now she finds herself in need of assistance and care.
When the pandemic started, Crystal quickly made sure she was in compliance with State guidelines so that she could continue to provide care for her daycare kids. Many of her parents are essential workers and we greatly appreciated her efforts and continuing care of our children. Unfortunately, Crystal contracted Covid-19 in mid-April and she has had to close her daycare. She has been hospitalized for the last four weeks and is on a ventilator. She is in critical but stable condition and slowly improving. We are trusting God for her full and complete recovery; however, we also realize that her recovery will take some time.
My friends and I started this fundraiser in an effort to provide some measure of support to her husband and family as they try to fill the financial gap created by the closure of her daycare. As the saying goes, no amount is too small or too large and all donations, and prayers, are welcome!
