Crystal Cave Installation by Monica Street
Crystal Cave is an art installation currently in production for presentation at the 3rd annual Lusio: A Night to Awaken, a juried nighttime display of light- and sound-based art in Seattle.
This project is a culmination of my work in art, science, and sacred geometry. As a kite maker, I'm employing traditional kite making and book binding techniques with a modern twist. I am working with wood, paper, and reclaimed materials.

Art should be accessible to everyone. Lusio is a free, family-friendly, public event and all are welcome. I hope Crystal Cave will inspire curiosity, playfulness, and community.
My first Crystals had a preliminary showing at the Summer Garden Party at James Washington Foundation on July 22nd.

In the future, I hope to present Crystal Cave in a gallery setting. As a teaching artist, I may also incorporate a teaching component with students. The Crystals are a great way to get children involved in math and kite/lantern making.
Your support of Crystal Cave will help defray supply costs, which are at about $2,000 and growing. I shop economically for supplies, I recycle and reuse -- but there are hard costs when structures, wiring, and electricity come into play.
I have kept costs down by using volunteer support from other local artists and engineers to produce the installation. Thanks so much for your generous help to: Leesa Kunke, Daniel Pearson, Alex Langenstein, Sean Quinn, Esther Ervin, A.J. Alfieri-Crispin, Aiden Kemper, Stephen Hill, Hilary Lee, Alexis Gallegos, Alli Nelson, Bob, Amara, Katie Davis, and my family!
Please help me reach this goal by August 10th! Every donation counts, and even $10 or $20 greatly helps us realize this project.
Thank you to my GoFundMe supporters for helping me manifest this vision into reality!
