Hey there friends and family. This is a challenging outreach we have come to, but a necessary one. We aren't individuals to typically ask for help in this manner or donations to a specific cause. But this one is for Crystal, and it's essential to help complete her wishes and ultimately donate to a cause that she values and has supported for many years.

This is a little refresher on Crystal's current status, so everyone understands what this page is for and what you are considering supporting.

After a four-year battle with breast cancer that spread to her brain, spine and lungs, Crystal has decided to end treatment. After many rounds of treatment, she no longer felt her body could handle the fight. She wants to finish life in her home, where she finds comfort.

Crystal entered Hospice care about five weeks ago. We have done our best to ensure she has the best care possible. With that came the need for 24-hour in-home care. As a family, we are providing that care, as well as learning how to keep Crystal most comfortable, and administer her medications properly. Being there to support her is most important, and we cannot put a price tag on that. As we continue to be by her side, the costs of being away from work and home have added up. This is a smaller piece of the puzzle, but we are looking to slightly offset some of those costs.

Additionally, we are looking to plan a Celebration of Life for Crystal towards the beginning of 2023, near her home in Seattle. This gives us time to organize the celebration and allows family and friends time to plan any necessary travel. We would love your support to bring friends and family together to celebrate Crystal.

Crystal has several items of sentimental value that we will be transporting back to the midwest. This is important, as we would like to share many of these items with friends and family. Unfortunately, we have recently found the expense of moving items across the county to be very high, and we are asking for support.

Lastly, and most importantly, we would like to be able to make a sizeable donation to a group that Crystal values and has contributed to. Founded in Seattle, Northwest Hope & Healing supports local women who come to the Swedish Cancer Institute for breast and gynecologic cancer treatment. Specifically helping those who may be struggling financially and whose resources have been depleted by cancer expenses and loss of work.

All donations will be greatly appreciated, but we want to be clear that any donations or lack thereof will not impact the current care she is being given. Crystal has an amazing team of medical staff, and we will be taking care of her every need, 24/7, until the end.

We appreciate all the support and kind words received over the last month. It has been wonderful to read and see how loved Crystal is and what a difference she has made to others. (After all, she is a damn rockstar!)
