Crystal Patron was born during a time when the medical community referred to Down Syndrome as "Mongol Idiocy or Mongolism." Despite the low expectations for children with Down Syndrome during that era, Crystal far surpassed what was once believed to be possible. Her unwavering joy and enthusiasm for life set her apart from the average person, and she has lived and loved larger than most!

Crystal's super empathetic core enabled her to excel in loving and forgiving others. Her compassionate nature benefited her family on the front line.

With unapologetic joy, Crystal took great pride in accomplishing seemingly mundane tasks and excelled at them, such as expertly folding various types of laundry that would impress even the most meticulous person. Her resilience and positive outlook on life were also responsible for helping her lose 50 lbs. at one point!

Crystal showed unwavering forgiveness and love towards her dad, even when he was "lost in the world" for many years. She never doubted and forgave him when he remarried his wife and mother of his children, Letty. By the grace of God, Larry, Letty, and their family have lived a full life together and have enjoyed every step with their sons, their families, and Crystal.

Just over a year ago, Crystal developed stage four cancer. Full-time caregiving, chemo appointments, and many demands of late-stage cancer have been challenging, but her care team has been the absolute best!

Crystal's love for Jesus surpasses everything else. She eagerly awaits meeting her Savior and has recently started physically reaching out her arms to Him in anticipation of feeling His presence. Let's celebrate Crystal's life together as we know she will soon be in Jesus's loving embrace as His beloved daughter!

Our goal is to raise $30K to provide for funeral arrangements and medical bills. The Patron family's medical bills currently exceed their means by about $25K and they expect Crystal's funeral arrangements to be around $5K. Any help you might be able to give would be appreciated!
