Hey, I'm Skye and my sister Crystal is my hero. Anyone who has met her, even briefly, know how warmly she treats others and how freely she shares her smile with everyone in her path. I don't know anyone more brave. I don't know anyone with a fiercer joy for everything that makes us human. She needs some help now as she deals with a medical setback and some piling bills.

This isn't the first GoFundMe our family has run for my sister. The last one, in 2020, was a beautiful reminder of the impact Crystal makes in others' lives, as well as the immense generosity of so many of our friends, family, and community. At that time, she was seeking treatment at a residential treatment center for her battle with anorexia, DID, and PTSD. Her treatment was very beneficial and eventually helped her to the point where she was working full time at a different treatment center, helping other people with their own struggles. That's how I've always seen my sister: someone who lifts others not in spite of her own pain and hardship, but because of it.

Unfortunately, after many physical health setbacks, ER visits, emotional hardships, and a couple more trips to the psych unit this past year for her safety, my sister once again found herself in need of residential treatment to try and get her feet on sturdy soil once more. She is currently at a treatment center in Florida that specifically reached out to offer help with her complex mix of mental health issues, that many treatment centers are unable to help with.

We're looking to cover Crystal's current treatment and help her pay bills when she returns. She was disappointed when she learned that her current workplace would have to let her go as a full time employee, because of the extended absence. She isn't sure what's next, but as her brother I know it will be incredible, and that it will make the world a better, kinder place. Because that's who Crys is.
