Crystal Lake Teen on Bike Hit by McHenry Sheriff

On a hot Saturday afternoon, 7/20/19, Anthony headed out on his bicycle to enjoy a day swimming at a friend's house.  As he was attempting to cross the street, in a tragic turn of events, Anthony was struck by a police vehicle.  He was ejected from his bike and sustained multiple injuries.  He was transported to the nearest hospital, where hospital staff determined he'd get better care at another facility.  He was transferred that evening.

Anthony is still resting and recovering in the Lutheran General Hospital as of 7/21.  The bills are mounting as he's had two ambulance rides, at least 2 days in the hospital, and parents that are juggling his care an hour away while also caring for Anthony's 3 year old sister.  We don't know the costs of Anthony's care at this time.  

Anthony is an outstanding young man.  He's a talented musician, an honors student, a good friend to many, an awesome big brother, and a helpful son.  His future is bright, as he is supposed to start high school in the fall.

We will update this site  when we know more about the financial burden that becomes uncovered. But for now,  let's help his family and help Anthony recover!  We're all pulling for him.
