Hello, this weekend we went through a roller coaster of emotions. From attending a normal prenatal appointment to realizing a life threatening issue was happening. Crystal was suffering from a pregnancy condition called severe pre eclampsia. A condition where the blood pressure is life threatening and could have resulted in seizures, stroke or could ultimately have lead to the loss of the baby. Within two hours of the appointment Crystal ended up being life flighted to the IWK in Halifax and battled trying to get the blood pressure under control. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and baby Rielle had to be born via C-section at 27 weeks and 5 days. Crystal and josh are from the antigonish area As result the baby will have to stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for another couple months until her due date which was supposed to be August 19th. They will have to travel 2+ hours every couple days to be able to see their baby. Crystals mother had passed in February and they had to organize and provide for the funeral out of pocket as well as travelling to be with their baby so we are asking for donations to help them pay for travel expenses, medication ,baby supplies and future medical expenses!
